Ask and You Shall Receive..

Basketball, Football

Ask and you shall receive!  That phrase should definitely be the theme of the sunday sports world.  I mean if today wasn’t the day of miracles being answered I don’t know what is!  I just watched the Clippers pick up arguably their biggest win of the year against the Boston Celtics.  And earlier today I watched the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers get the same “ask and you shall receive” miracle answered, by beating the 13-1 New Orleans Saints. Check out my synopsis of both games below…

CLIPPERS vs CELTICS

I mean damn, could the Clippers have played any better tonight? Here’s my short answer… no!  They shot 51% from the field, held the Celtics to under 100 points and limited Kevin Garnett & Ray Allen to under 15 points each.  Baron Davis and Chris Kaman put the team on their backs and really showed why they deserve to be in All Star team conversations.  Baron Davis hit the game winning shot with only one second left on the clock and Chris Kaman had another solid game by adding 27 points and 12 rebounds.   Rajon Rondo had 2 chances to win the game on the free throw line but missed them both with 1.5 seconds left in the game.  The Clippers stepped up tonight and gave their first sold out crowd of the season a game to remember!

BUCCANEERS vs SAINTS

If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ever had an ask and you shall receive miracle they got it from Saints kicker Garrett Hartley earlier today.  After the Saints blew a 17 point lead, Hartley had the chance to win the game at the end of regulation by kicking a 37 yard field goal but it went wide left.  Could this be true?   Could the 2-12 Buccaneers actually beat the 13-1 Saints?  Here’s my short answer…yes!  In overtime the Bucs surged down the field and set up their own kicker Connor Barth to win the game on a 47 yard field goal.  Although the Saints have lost two straight and failed to clinch home court advantage throughout the playoffs, I’m not worried about them.  I’m certain they will clinch next week against the sub .500 Carolina Panthers.  Tune in next week to see if the Saints wake up or if the Panthers have their own ask and you shall receive moment!
