New Allen Iverson? Well just days after Allen Iverson announced he would retire because there was no team willing to let him play the way he wanted to he gets signed by a team…the 76ers! What a difference three years make huh! In 2006 Iverson had a very nasty, very public split from the team he had been with for 10 1/2 seasons.
But the saying is true “time heals all wounds” and both the Sixer organization and Iverson are ready to try again. The new Allen Iverson needs to adapt to a new team as well. When Iverson left Iguodala was just starting out in the league but he is a new player, the same goes for Dalembert who was just catching his stride. So the Iverson of old that had Iguodala and Dalembert compliment him will now take the role of complimenting them.
Iverson still has a lot to offer the game of basketball and I am glad he will be able to showcase his talents for at least one more season. Welcome back A.I and I look forward to the new look 76ers with the new Allen Iverson!
