With all due respect Brandon Jennings may be the best BJ that Scott Skiles ever had. I mean for a rookie point guard to shoot 62% from the field, 75% from the line and hit seven out of eight 3’s while still dishing out five dimes and grabbing five boards is historical; not to mention great for my fantasy team. Oh yeah, I almost forgot he scored 55 points. That’s right, a double nickel in regulation. I know, I know, it was against the Golden State Warriors who appear to be allergic to defense, but that shouldn’t take away from this historical moment. Remember he did this within the first 10 games of the regular season, and isn’t even an available option on all star ballots. I don’t know what’s in the water in Compton or in the pasta in Italy but it sure is working.
After a few key strokes and clicks of the mouse; I stumbled on a small website called NBA.com. Under the “rookie records” section, they told me that every rookie to score more than 50 points in a game not only went on to win rookie of the year but is in the Hall of Fame. That would be Rick Barry with 57, Wilt the Stilt Chamberlain with 58 and Earl the Pearl Monroe with 56 in overtime. I noticed all those Hall of Fame guys I just mentioned have cool nicknames. Can someone give Brandon Jennings a cool nickname soon; and please not BJ for obvious reasons. As a matter of fact, I’m going to take it upon myself to give him a nickname. Brandon Jennings A.K.A. the Exclamation Point! But back to the topic at hand; does this 55 point game mean that Brandon Jennings will win rookie of the year and go on to be inducted in Springfield Mass? Dare I say the Hall of Fame? I don’t know about all of that just yet but I don’t mind staying tuned in…

Yeah its funny since I wrote this Brandon Jennings has fell off a little bit but it is definitely going to be a toss up between him and Tyreke Evans for rookie of the year. Thanks for the comments!
